Pad printing
The pad printing process is an indirect gravure printing developed to supplement existing printing systems. Nearly independent of shape and surface structure, different materials can be printed. It is possible to print in cavities of 3D work pieces. In addition to ink also other fluids such as glue, varnish, separating agents etc. can be transferred.

Production and material
For the production of a printing pad an original mould is required, which can be produced in different mechanical ways. This blank serves as a template for a casting mould, whereby the blank is designated positive model and the casting mould negative model.

Printing pad - shapes
The shape of a printing pad generally depends on the shape of the printing format. The different printing pad shapes can be classified in three groups: Round printing pads, square printing pads and long printing pads. The adjustment and the placing of the printing format to the printing pad are dependent on the shape.

Hard printing pads
Hard printing pads are featured by a sharp printing format. Because if its high mechanical hardness the durability is greater compared to soft pads. A strong curvature of the pad, to avoid air enclosures during the printing, is not necessary because of the fact that the hard printing pads have a good roll-over behavior. Due to the good roll-over behavior the structure surfaces are exactly printed.
